We Believe...

..that the solution to inequality, pain, suffering, and lack in the world is ‘those that have’ sharing willingly from the heart with ‘those that have not’ who are sick and/or needy.

Warm clothing and bedding for babies, quilts for the aged or ill, books for the disadvantaged, essentials and household goods for those who have lost everything in floods, house fires, or due to job loss; these are just some of the need we assist with. You can help.

What a wonderful day – thank you all so much!

By
Whew – yesterday was a HUGE day with so many wonderful things happening.  I hardly know where to begin but I just have to share, it was so marvelous.

Together we can make a wonderful difference!

- 50 taggie blankets were worked on yesterday at work meeting for the refugees and sick & needy – they are so cute – it took many hours last week getting them all cut out and the ribbons put on ready to sew, but worth it. We can sure use more ribbon – wide, medium width and narrow – but mostly wide width. The taggie blankets have 16 ribbon loops on each one and we run through ribbon like water. The hospitals use the blankets for comfort and tactile training – especially useful for burn patients as the blankets are made of soft fabrics with different sensations – minky, chenille, velour, flannel, cotton, knit, etc.
- I brought a truckload of batting, fabric and other items in to the work rooms from a variety of donors. Thank goodness there was a couple of darling scouts there to help unload the truck onto the loading docks and into the work room area where all the volunteers were working. The batting quickly got spoken for to be made into quilts as the tops and backs were all ready for them.
- Donna donated a HUGE box of fabric scraps that a wonderful lady is making up into what is needed.   She was tickled pink to get her hands on such nice fabric to work with and the those who will benefit from her efforts will be greatly blessed.  Donna also sent a quilt batt (already made up into a quilt) and other much needed supplies.
- our precious angel donor, who wishes to remain anonymous, sent a huge amount of batting that all of the volunteers were so grateful for – we are desperate for batting and it gets used up as fast as it comes in.  They also sent gorgeous fabric, and – listen to this – a sewing machine!!!!!  The minute I received the delivery of the sewing machine it came out of the box, got threaded and got to work finishing an item I was working on. It’s a really wonderful one that you can just sit down and use – the stitch is a good consistent one and the machine a dream to sew with.  It will be wonderful to have volunteers actually sewing instead of cutting quilt squares out waiting for a machine to get free.
I am so grateful to everyone who is more than willing to step up and help.  The donations are much needed and immediately put to use and the kind words and encouragement are the icing on the cake – I love getting the little notes tucked in with the donations that I share with the volunteers ;-)
I hope everyone has a wonderful day – you all deserve it!
